  1. I liked The Orphan. It was dark and quite interesting. Mama looks good though I am yet to watch it. I haven’t watched a good horror movie in a while though. Two movies that have stayed with me over the years are The Exorcism of Emily Rose and The Omen. Great post!

  2. I love horror movies, but I think I liked them more when I was little. One movie that has remained scary is The Exorcist. Orphan was really good, and I think I’ve only seen the 2002 Carrie remake, which I loved. Other movies that stayed with me since childhood were Sometimes They Come Back, Pet Sematary, and Phantasm. Of course, the classics too, but I won’t mentions those. These movies are no longer scary, but they made such an impact that over a decade later I could still remember specific scenes, which helped me track them down. I don’t know if it’s because I’m older or if it’s because movies aren’t scary anymore, but I haven’t been scared by a movie in a very long time. Jump scares don’t count. Oh! I really liked They, Darkness Falls, Heartless, Silent Hill, Stay Alive, and The Haunting of Helena even though IMDB says they’re poop.

  3. I’m a big horror movie genre fan, this would be pretty difficult for me lol. But a few of my favorites are “Bram Stoker’s Dracula”, “The Shining”, and “The Exorcist”.

Well, in no particular order, my top 10 Horror films would be… The Thing (1982), The Omen (1976), Hellraiser (1987), The Fog (1980) Alien (1979), Nightmare on Elm St Dream Warriors (1987) love the original but just really like the 3rd film best for some reason, Bride of Frankenstein (1935), The Exorcist (1973), Night of the Living Dead (1968) and 28 Days Later (2002)

  5. Wow great list! I’m a horror movie fanatic. I haven’t seen Sleepaway Camp or Waxwork yet, but I love your other choices. I just watched May not long ago, isn’t that one such a weird one?? But it was good! 😀

  6. I like all genres, but have a soft spot for horror films. Wouldn’t put all those at the top of my list. I liked Mama, but felt the ending laid the symbolism on a little too thick. Really liked May. Pretty messed up. Anyway thanks for posting. Nice to see other people appreciate this genre.
