Goodreads Summary:

She’s good at achieving her goals…

College senior Sabrina James has her whole future planned out: graduate from college, kick butt in law school, and land a high-paying job at a cutthroat firm. Her path to escaping her shameful past certainly doesn’t include a gorgeous hockey player who believes in love at first sight. One night of sizzling heat and surprising tenderness is all she’s willing to give John Tucker, but sometimes, one night is all it takes for your entire life to change.

But the game just got a whole lot more complicated

Tucker believes being a team player is as important as being the star. On the ice, he’s fine staying out of the spotlight, but when it comes to becoming a daddy at the age of twenty-two, he refuses to be a bench warmer. It doesn’t hurt that the soon-to-be mother of his child is beautiful, whip-smart, and keeps him on his toes. The problem is, Sabrina’s heart is locked up tight, and the fiery brunette is too stubborn to accept his help. If he wants a life with the woman of his dreams, he’ll have to convince her that some goals can only be made with an assist.

My Review:

As soon as Tucker lays eyes on Sabrina James he knows that he wants her, and as soon as Sabrina lays her eyes on Tucker she knows he will be good for one hook-up because that is all she does. Sabrina is only focused on law school, but when Tucker enters her life things become a little more complicated.

I have read all three previous books in the series which you don’t have to read to read this one, but I highly recommend it. I thought the last book was just okay, but I really liked the first two because there were a lot of hilarious moments. This one felt different, but not in a bad way even though The Deal is still my favorite.

The Goal felt a little more serious with the pregnancy sitution, but it still had plenty of swoon and cute moments. There were still some pretty funny moments especially the teddy bear and Logan scene! Tucker has been my favorite since book one with all his cooking skills, and he did not let me down here. He was cute and sweet and never pushed Sabrina into doing or not doing something.

I really liked Sabrina as well but still felt she should have told Tucker how she felt earlier on in the book, but I get that she hasn’t had the best life especially with her creepy step dad always making ridiculous comments. I liked that she was determined to have a better life, and she worked two jobs to help get there. Even when obstacles got in the way she still is staying on her career path.

I wish that there would have been more friendship development at first like how it was between Garrett and Hannah, but the romance still felt very real, and Elle never lets anyone down with the steamy romance scenes she writes. Overall a good read and can’t wait to read what Elle writes next.
