Goodreads Summary:

There was once a time when darkness shrouded the world, and the darkness had a queen.

Adelina Amouteru is done suffering. She’s turned her back on those who have betrayed her and achieved the ultimate revenge: victory. Her reign as the White Wolf has been a triumphant one, but with each conquest her cruelty only grows. The darkness within her has begun to spiral out of control, threatening to destroy all that she’s achieved.

Adelina’s forced to revisit old wounds when a new danger appears, putting not only Adelina at risk, but every Elite and the very world they live in. In order to save herself and preserve her empire, Adelina and her Roses must join the Daggers on a perilous quest—though this uneasy alliance may prove to be the real danger.

My Review:

Time has gone by since Adelina has gotten her throne. She has become ruthless especially to those that have betrayed her. She still wants to find her sister who has left her behind and now recedes with the Daggers. Magiano is the one person that she finds joy in. The world is in danger because those with powers were never supposed to have powers, so to save their world Adelina must join up with those who betrayed her and give up what has made her who she is now.

I wasn’t that big of a fan of Marie’s Legend series except for the beautiful ending that taunted me for days. This series, however, has had me on my toes and anxious to know what is going to happen next. I wanted to love Adelina, and then I wanted to hate her, but then I see how everything could have been prevented if Raffaele had given her a real chance to begin with.

Even though I hate these characters at times, I love them so much. Yes even Teren with the wicked things he has done. You can’t help feel for them and understand the way they are because of the factors that the non malfettos put upon them.

This ride was intense! Adelina went through so much with having to try to break herself apart from the whisperers that would whisper horrendous thoughts in her head. I loved the bond between Adelina and her sister Violetta. That bond was everything!!!

Magiano! Oh Magiano is the goodness to Adelina’s badness, and I am entranced by their beautiful bond. There was plenty of action but most of all the emotions consumed me especially when Raffaele performs the test on Magiano and Teren, and you get to read what memories came about.

The ending! That ending was one of the best I have ever read! Perfect conclusion to a series that is different from what is out there!
