characters from both the One Week Girlfriend series and The Rules series.)
I have read several YA books from Monica Murphy, so this was my first NA book by her. Sydney becomes a nanny for NFL quarterback Drew and his wife Fable. Things go downhill when pictures of Drew are taken with Sydney. Even though there is nothing going on between them, Drew and Fable decide to ask Sydney and their friend Wade to pretend they are a couple to take the heat off of Drew.
This pretend relationship between Wade and Sydney begins to heat up quick. While things started out as fake, sometimes things turn out unexpectedly.
Safe Bet was an adorable read! I liked the bond between Wade and Sydney and their interactions when they were with each other. There were definitely swooney moments that Monica knows how to work well when she writes.
I really liked Drew and Fable and even though I haven’t read their story, I think I would like to go and read it after reading this book! I did want a little something new to this type of story, but overall it was a really cute read!
