Goodreads Summary:

He used to scoff at fate…

A long time ago, he was ruler among gods. Fallen, he was exiled, sent to oversee the underworld. Until a mage on Earth caught his interest, and their friendship got him involved with the one he was always meant to protect – the Lady of the Lake.

He used to scoff at love….

With Vivienne safe in Sébastien’s embrace, Atrox sheds the last of his protector skin, and says goodbye to his alter, Alistair, for good. Something else has drawn his attention, and it’s got nothing to do with keeping watch from afar. Rather, it’s got everything to do with getting closer than ever before.

…until he falls in the most final trap of all.

Atrox’s last adventure leads him to the kingdom of the Fae, as he seeks the one who stole his heart – the Fae heiress, Catriona. But her aging father is not keen on letting one of his worst enemies win over his daughter. Without mercy, he sets up a trap: seven labours, each harder than the next. If Atrox wins them all, he can plead his case to Catriona herself. And if he loses…he faces death itself.

My Review:

Atrox, man! I’ve been waiting for this boy’s story for a while and it did not disappoint! I’m a big fan of quest type things and Atrox’s journey was packed with emotion, hardships, and love. This story wasn’t just about Atrox’s love for Catriona, it was one about his own growth and discovering himself. But yes, there was some excellent swoon as well!

The writing in this novella is beautiful and touching, and I seriously love this world so much!

Goodreads Summary:

Rules are meant to be broken… Unless breaking them tears an entire family apart.

Finn

I’m the cool headed one. The rule-follower. The non-hormonal-raging wolf.

This pack needs someone like me. We’ve fought creatures of the night, psychotic families and dealt with magic and the unbelievable. We’re all thick as thieves, and the worst thing that could happen is getting kicked out of this pack.

Which is why breaking rules is not my thing.

So why does Elle make me want to throw it all away?

And why is it my stupid, idiotic wolf does exactly that…before I’ve even had a taste of her lips?

Now we’ve got more on our hands than a love story with bad timing. Cause the shite about to go down in Rockland Creek has just hit boiling point – and I’m the catalyst.

Elle

He barges in like he owns my destiny, and yeah it’s hot as sin. That Irish accent, those gorgeous eyes, it’d be easy to fall for the whole package.

Only I don’t. I may look as sweet as the baked goods I sell, but there are thorns under this armor Finn has no idea about. Things he cannot know about, or I’ll end up in the looney bin like my mom. And then things get really complicated when Tytus is added to the mix, telling me stories I can’t believe. They’re fable, myths….but before long I’m spiraling into a web so thick I don’t know which way is up. And when the one person I can trust is hunted by a demon from his past, I’m left to rely on myself to figure it out. But what if I make the wrong choice?

My review:

The one thing I can always trust in this series is that I’m going to love the two leads, and love them I did! Finn and his wolf were awesome and Elle has got to be my favorite girl so far!

I felt this book was really, really packed with even more emotion, swoon, character growth, and action compared to the other ones! I really felt for Elle and her inner struggles. I also seriously loved seeing the old gang pop up on the pages, and there are some incredibly interesting things that go down in this one!

I always love the author’s writing, and I feel like she could write instructions on how to bake a cake and it would read amazing! Yes, this book does have romance but it has so much more with wonderful world building and magic! Can’t wait for Lucas’s story next!

Avalon Dreams Character Interview

“It was impossible they had met before – of that she was certain. Yet his hold on her was undisputable, an irrational pull to the utmost recesses of her soul.”

Vivienne du Lac has everything she could wish for – a normal, peaceful life, a good job, cushy nest egg, and a semi-social nightlife. The only problem? She’s clueless to being the reincarnation of the Lady of the Lake, mythical sorceress from King Arthur’s time, and Merlin’s apprentice.

Sebastien Dubois is the guy you wouldn’t take home to mom and dad. He’s the one you jump off on a motorcycle with, to ride into the sunset. The sexual chemistry between them is sizzling from the start – but there’s more to the tall, dark and handsome stranger. When a magical past tumbles into her orderly reality, he is Vivienne’s only hope at survival.

Caught between darkness and light, a battle she has no intention to fight – let alone the knowledge to win – Vivienne quickly finds out not even closest allies can be trusted.

Can she look within and access powers from long past, become the enchantress Merlin meant her to be… Or will she lose it all over love, for Sebastien’s salvation? This is a battle between good and evil you don’t want to miss.

Character interview with Vivienne from Avalon Dreams

Vivienne, what do you remember about your past life?
My memories are still a bit fuzzy, but I’d say what really sticks is the freedom I was given. My father, King Adrien, was a firm believer in supporting me through choices not necessarily allowed women my age – or stature – back then.
I also remember my vast kingdom, Elsior. The beautiful mountains, the incredible sunsets, it was pure magic.
Then there were my trainings with Merlin, and those memories are bittersweet now.
But what really sticks with me, even through the memories I only remember vaguely, is definitely the freedom I was allowed.

Goodreads Summary:

Tristan

I swore I was done with love, after my last failed relationship. Being a soldier means making the tough decisions, all for the good of the pack. So when a little miss full of attitude waltzes in, dragging a shitload of trouble with her, I want nothing more than to make that tough decision and kick her the hell out. But then she turns those big, helpless eyes on me, and my wolf roars otherwise. Shit-of-fuck but now I’m screwed…. And her family seriously has a screw loose. To make it worse? We have history.

Daniela

You’d think running away from a psycho family would swear me off relationships for good. Guess what? So did I. In fact, I specifically searched Tristan out because he’s the type I’d never be with. Too much of everything, if you get my gist – attitude included. So why is it when he starts acting all protector, I can’t help but swoon? His dark secrets don’t scare me as much as this sudden tornado within me. This was not in the plans… And I might just have to make a run for it. But will he let me?

My Review:

I absolutely loved the first book, First to Fall, so I was super excited to get into Tristan’s head for this round! And I was not disappointed! My boy has a lot going on in that little brain of his!

Let me say I absolutely fell in love with Dani! She was a great MC who stood her ground and plus, yeah, she has a wolf, too! The chemistry between Tristan and Dani was so good! On fire!

But don’t worry, you get action, other cool fantasy characters, and loads of fun, too. I just love the world that Whitewolf has created here. I’m seriously intrigued to see the next wolf’s book!!

Goodreads Summary:

It’s summer in Tofino, BC. This means chilling, hanging out with friends and meeting hot boys.

Not so for Maya Finnigan, who’s stuck in summer school with extra classes in order to make it to college. Looks like another summer of studying and boring “fun” – and hanging out with her loyal German Shepherd, Bear. Or will it be?

Kolt Waters meets the “hot” criteria with his intense blue eyes and Brit accent, plus he’s the boy-next-door. But his smug attitude and never-ending jabs get on Maya’s nerves.

When Bear goes missing, surprisingly it’s Kolt who jumps to the rescue. But is their budding romance a happily ever after or a wreck in disguise? And what’s the story with their parents, and the secrets they hide?

Dig in for a summer of fun, mystery and first loves…as unconditional as they come.

My Review:

Sometimes you just have to read a novella! This was the perfect size, and it was such an adorable read! Also, there is a little side love story in here as well that I absolutely loved! Plus, there is a POV from a very special animal as well that just made the story that much better!

I thought Maya and Kolt were super likable characters, and I always love the dislike to like scenarios! And it was done so well! Sometimes when you get to an end of a story and feel that deep breath escape from yourself because the story was so cute, that’s what I did! I’ve read all of Alexa’s books so far, and this one does not disappoint!

Also, awesome news! This book is FREE on Amazon, etc!!

Goodreads Summary:

Cassandra DiCavalier thinks she has her life sorted out, when Damon Voight storms back in. Sexy and overprotective, yet with a soft side, this ex-military guy is every girl’s fantasy.

She already had the fantasy – ten years ago – and is not about to fall into the same trap. But despite her best efforts to keep the charming soldier at bay, she seems to be meeting him time and time again.

Cassandra is one tough cookie, and Damon is as stubborn as they come. Will they be able to find their love once again?

My Review:

This is the first book I’ve read by Alexa where no magic was involved, and I love me some of that, but this one had a magic all its own! Cassandra and Damon were freaking awesome and I always love past loves reuniting! There was great banter and swoon between the leads! Also lets not forget the suspense! And I couldn’t put this one down!

Cassandra was a great MC and not annoying! As you know, I get annoyed easily with female MCs but not here! All I can say about Damon is Alexa knows how to write guy characters! Can I just add that Renzo was an excellent side character as well!

I’d actually like to read more contemporary sort of books from the author! Blood Ties was well written and the characters were relatable!! Plus, there was also some pretty emotional spots! Loved it!

First love never dies… And neither does revenge.

Cassandra

Of all the things that could go wrong, he had to come back! Ten years ago he leaves me with a broken heart, and now he’s acting like he cares. And let’s not forget how infuriatingly macho he’s become. Damon may think he can boss me around, but he’s got another thing coming. I’m no longer the starry-eyed girl he knew.

Damon

Leaving her was the worst decision I’ve ever made, but I thought it was for the best. I was listening to her father, after all. And now I’m back because of him – and his shady side-dealings. Cassandra thinks she’s got it all figured out, but she doesn’t even know the half of it. With my connections, I know I can keep her safe. If only she’d stop trying to kung fu my ass, maybe we’d get somewhere.

They say opposites attract, but these two will have sparks flying with every page. Hop on a thrilling tale of love, hate, and everything in between as Damon tries to save Cassandra from a heritage that could cost her life – and his.

Excerpt:

Damon watched in slight satisfaction as realization dawned on Cass. Playing the dashing stranger had its appeal, but nothing compared to the recognition drifting in her eyes, even as her lips parted in surprise.

His delight turned to growing frustration when it seemed like she would bolt any minute. He understood the knee-jerk reaction, especially considering their history, but before he could speak Cassandra drew her hand back and slapped him.

Damon stood still for a moment, processing the hit. Her hazel eyes sparked outrage, and a delightful flush stained her cheeks. He forced himself to look past that. “What was that for?”
It was the wrong question to ask, judging by the way she clenched her jaw. When she spoke, Cassandra’s voice was tight with reined-in emotion. “You dare ask me that, after ten years? Ten freaking years!”
“Cassie, I –” Damon tried to take a step closer, but Cassandra moved back, holding her palms up.
(…)
Viktor will pay for this, one way or another.

Damon met Cassandra’s gaze once more, and held it. Something in her expression shifted, but she wasn’t running away. Yet. He pounced on the chance while he still could. “That’s not the full story, actually it’s not even a story. I left, yes, but not for the reasons you think.”
“Sure you did.” Cassandra’s eyes shifted from his, avoiding the truth.
Before she could stop him, Damon reached for her chin and forced her to look him at him. “You used to be able to tell when I was lying. Tell me, am I now?”
Flashes of the girl he’d known crossed her expression, though Cassandra did a good job trying to hide it. He could still see the girl he’d helped out with homework, the tougher yet vulnerable side of her he’d fallen in love with…
How can she think I’d leave her? It stung to think that all she recalled of him was his ambitious streak.
It took Damon a second to realize Cassandra had frozen at his touch, and the look in her eyes had changed. When he tuned in to the change in her, he picked up on her quicker breathing, nostrils flaring as if inhaling his scent. Up close, he could now smell the vanilla perfume emanating from her skin, and he wanted nothing more than to sample her lips.
Cassandra’s eyes widened, the anger set aside by the pure chemical reaction they had to one another. The blazing glare, so eager to put him in his place, dimmed now to a sense of assessment.
Damon had been used to girls throwing themselves at him in the military, but he’d never been interested in more than a night. Only one woman had occupied his thoughts, and she was now so close every instinct in him screamed to make her his.
My little spitfire.
