What I liked about this book is that it is very direct and precise about learning to paint with watercolor. It’s super thorough, so even if you don’t become an artist overnight, I think you will improve greatly.

I just wished there would have been more watercolor examples. There are several simple step by step illustration though, to help you understand what to do next. Overall a very decent book!

In this new installment of Lee J. Animals and plants from in and near the water featured in the book include clownfish, whale sharks, sea otters, dolphins, turtles and more.

My Review:

I got another art book in the mail to review, and I was thrilled! I love reviewing art books! So, first off I love sea creatures, and there are 50 of them! 50 super awesome drawings! I kind of want to go scuba diving to see them all, except I’m scared of heights, and I feel like being under the sea is the same thing, just reversed!!

Now, could I draw them after looking at the steps? No! With these step by step books, after the first step, I’m like I rock! Then I move on to the second step and am like, dude I got this! Then the third step, I’m like what? And then finally step four, I’m like, where did all this shading come from????

However, I think kids learning to draw would really enjoy this book or anyone that has an interest in drawing, even though the shading isn’t explained very well.
