What got you into book blogging?
I got into book blogging because I was a stay at home disabled mom. I was not able to party or support many of my “friends'” bad habits anymore because I was too ill to leave home, I became clean from a heavy drug addiction and I lost a lot of income from not working like I wanted anymore. This threw me in a huge depression and I battled severe anxiety because of it. Everyone said I just changed when I was still the free-spirited girl just now drug free and couldn’t help them out for once. I realized that all they wanted was to use me so I turned to books again. I fell in love with books at an early age because I was self taught to have most of the education I have now with books. I don’t tell really anyone this but I love the community so figured I would share. Being a fostered child, being in group homes and having dyslexia prevented me from learning in the usual way we learn these days. In institutions there is no school. School consisted of a set time that we could read a book if we wanted or most kids acted out and we were just sent to our rooms. There were no assignments, no homework. A lot of people might be excited by this idea but with dyslexia and a speech issue, I wanted nothing more than to be a smart and educated woman one day. So I read and I read all day everyday until I was able to take a standardized test at the last institution I was at and received an above college score. I had only one thing to thank and that was books whether it was textbooks or novels they taught me all that I know.

I’m sorry for this long answer but in conclusion for this question, I went into book blogging because I threw myself into books because it was a safe haven and I had lost all of my “friends” so I wanted a place that had the best of both where I could talk about books and receive books based on my opinions. A dream come true!📚😍

What’s your favorite thing about blogging?

The blogging community, hands down! I have met the most amazing and supportive people in the blogosphere. I think I would lose it without this community!

How do you determine your rating on a book?

I go by how the book makes me feel, how fast I flip/scroll through pages, and I just pretty much rate a book on how much I enjoy it and how much I think others will.😊

What’s your favorite book you have read and why?

Shoot!!!😨 This is the hardest question for a bibliophile! I will just go with one of my favorites and say Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter. I love Ms. Slaughter’s work and this novel had so many twists and turns! Even though this novel had like around 500-600 pages I read it within 24 hours because I wouldn’t sleep until I knew what happened!😍📚

Do you post specific things on certain days or just wing it?

I wing everything in life! Lol. But no, I just make up things as I go along and I am horrible at taking the time to even proofread because I am all about living in the moment.

If you could pick one word to describe yourself what would it be and why?

Custom. I would use this word because I am totally custom-made plus more. When someone thinks they have me figured out I will always surprise them. I am an oddball and unique but love with all that I am.

How long have you had your blog?
This may be a surprise to some but I have only been blogging for about 8 months now!💜🌈

Questions from Shameeka:

Which fictional character do you feel you can relate with?

Juliette from Shatter Me. Sometimes she doesn’t know how and whether to believe in herself, but when she does she is amazing. She is a great friend to those that are willing, and she is strong when everything is on the line.

Who is your favorite artist?

Picasso. His art is so intriguing and interesting. Didn’t he cut off his own ear and send it to a girl?

Which subject did you like most in school?

I really loved Math because I was really good at numbers. I wish I had focused more on writing because I didn’t realize how much I loved to write until my senior year of high school.

What do you feel is your greatest quality?

Dependable. I am always on time or early. I hate being late more than anything because it stresses me out.

Any words of advice to new bloggers?

Just stick with it and put your heart in your posts.

What is the craziest thing that has ever happened to you?

I had to go to the hospital 3 different times for pre-term labor, and that was not only crazy but scary.

Name a book you struggled to finish.

Oh man I have so many of those! Legacy of Kings by: Elearnor Herman. It started off great, but then I am not sure what happened!

What are the challenges you faced while starting your blog?

Trying to think what I was going to write on the blog every day.

Any goals for this year – blog or general?

Hopefully just keep building up followers to follow my blog and find new blogs that I can find out about new things on.

Who is your role model?

Elizabeth Bennet.  She is strong, independent, sassy and fierce.

Name a book you read that changed your life.

1984. I had lost my love for reading sometime in junior high and just didn’t read any more. During high school we had a choice to read this book or another book, and I chose 1984 by: George Orwell. It was amazing, and it had my mind thinking more than any other time during my life. I will never forget those moments.
