My Review:

Let me first say that I wasn’t the hugest fan in the world of the first IT. I thought the CGI was super odd and distracting, and I was more interested in the group dynamic of the kids which I loved, loved, loved!

Now, on to chapter 2! I really, really, liked this one. Like, the first movie, the group dynamic—this time the adults—was just as stellar. I mainly went into this movie thinking I’d love James McAvoy the best, because he’s my fave, but I actually thought Bill Hadar’s character shined here! James Rasnone, who plays Eddie, was also awesome! However, I was super disappointed in Jessica Chastain’s character as Beverly, because Sophia Lillis had done such a phenomenal job with the character in the first movie. But for some reason, Jessica always comes off as stiff to me!

If you liked Bill Skarsgård in IT, then you’ll love him here. He pulls off the clown rather well, and I always get a thrill when I see him on the screen versus some of the strange CGI for the other fears. I’m actually confused why the CGI looks so weird when there is such a good budget for these films.

Anyway, I did shed some tears in this one and the ending was utterly perfect! There’s blood and gore and friendship bonds! My faves!

My Review:

Since everyone and their mom loved this movie, I was like well, I guess I’ll watch it. I can’t remember the original TV film clearly except for Tim Curry’s character, and the bathroom scene with the girl from Ginger Snaps.

Let me just say I was… not super impressed. Some of the CGI was pretty annoying. I also get that this group of characters were kids, but some of them made some super moronic moves that as a kid, I would have never made. Going into rooms alone, leaving the group behind because you think you can do it… get real. I would have stayed hugging onto my friend’s shirt and taking care of business together!

My favorite aspects of the film wasn’t even the horror scenes, it was the group bond with the kids known as “The Losers.” I thought there were a lot of hilarious scenes with them. Jack Dylan Grazer, who played Eddie, was the best! I also really liked Sophia Lillis, and she played Bevery well—the bathroom scene was awesome!

I feel like Bill Skarsgard did a better job at luring the kid at the drain by appearing more child friendly than Curry’s clown I would have liked to see more of his acting skills, since most of the time he just pops out, but he did do a good job.

I am anxious to see the second chapter to see what happens next, but it won’t be out until 2019! I haven’t read the book, either! I just haven’t been impressed by a lot of movies in general lately, but I do recommend this one!
