Review: Tarnished Crown

Title: Tarnished Crown

Author: Erin Watt

Date of Publication: 2017

34816694

Goodreads Summary:

The Gideon & Savannah Story. Takes place after Twisted Palace.
Weekly release until August via Erin Watt’s newsletter and, one week later, on their website and Wattpad.

My Review:

So, I love the Royals series. I automatically was not that interested in Gideon’s story to begin with. I think it kind of gave me a creepy feeling when I knew Sabrina was 15 when they got together, and he was 18. I have a daughter, so if she brings home an 18 year old boyfriend when she’s 15, I’ll tell him to get his butt outta here! I pushed my feelings aside and was hoping for it to be as good as Paper Princess with twists and turns.

This one was just kind of okay, and I did like Gideon and Savannah. But there wasn’t a lot that really happened, and even the moments between Gid and Sav, I was just like where is the magical spark????

I can’t be too upset about the book because it was free through Erin Watt’s newsletter, but you can also read it here on Wattpad: https://www.wattpad.com/story/105101503-tarnished-crown

Overall, it is still worth a read before Easton’s book which my review was posted earlier for that book! And yes that one was awesome!

Review: Fallen Heir

Title: Fallen Heir

Author: Erin Watt

Date of Publication: August 28th, 2017

33807229

Goodreads Summary:

These Royals will ruin you.

Easton Royal has it all: looks, money, intelligence. His goal in life is to have as much fun as possible. He never thinks about the consequences because he doesn’t have to.

Until Hartley Wright appears, shaking up his easy life. She’s the one girl who’s said no, despite being attracted to him. Easton can’t figure her out and that makes her all the more irresistible.

Hartley doesn’t want him. She says he needs to grow up.

She might be right.

Rivals. Rules. Regrets. For the first time in Easton’s life, wearing a Royal crown isn’t enough. He’s about to learn that the higher you start, the harder you fall.

My Review:

I was not sure how I was going to like this book since Easton was always such a screw up in the last books. Being in his head was pretty intense, and I’m proud to say, Watt did an amazing job of creating such a complex character. I wanted to slap him at times… HARD. I wanted to hug him at times… EVEN HARDER.

Hartley I did like most of the time, but there were times where I wanted to shake her as well, but the book is only told from Easton’s POV, so I could never really know what was going on in her head.

Easton is full of problems, with alcohol being one of his main downfalls. He lashes out and does things that he doesn’t mean to do. Instead, he should really think before doing the things that he does. But that is what makes him feel so incredibly real.

The ending to this one, is one that I was not expecting AT ALL. I knew there would be a cliffhanger based on the other books, but this was all kinds of unexpected. Next book now pleaseeeeeeeeeee!

Title: Twisted Palace

Author: Erin Watt

Date of Publication: October 2016

twisted

Goodreads Summary:

These Royals will ruin you…

From mortal enemies to unexpected allies, two teenagers try to protect everything that matters most.

Ella Harper has met every challenge that life has thrown her way. She’s tough, resilient, and willing to do whatever it takes to defend the people she loves, but the challenge of a long-lost father and a boyfriend whose life is on the line might be too much for even Ella to overcome.

Reed Royal has a quick temper and even faster fists. But his tendency to meet every obstacle with violence has finally caught up with him. If he wants to save himself and the girl he loves, he’ll need to rise above his tortured past and tarnished reputation.

No one believes Ella can survive the Royals. Everyone is sure Reed will destroy them all.
They may be right.

With everything and everyone conspiring to keep them apart, Ella and Reed must find a way to beat the law, save their families, and unravel all the secrets in their Twisted Palace.

My Review:

twisted

This has been one of my favorite series this year and in my all time favorite reads. The writing is pretty straight forward but is one that is totally addicting and fun and has that Cruel Intentions vibe that I adored. This book picks up right where the last book left off. Steve is back and Reed has just been arrested for murder, and Ella is in a state of shock from both accounts. Twisted Palace is told from both perspectives again from Ella and Reed which I loved.

These books are hard to review because anything is almost a spoiler, so I will avoid a lot of that. As for the characters I love them and all their flaws. Ella is still one of my favorite characters, and I love her relationship with Reed and all the other Royals. Reed has anger problems that I would probably avoid in real life, but as a fictional character he is the ultimate book boyfriend.

There was a lot of not sure who committed the murder, and I kept going back and fourth with who I thought did it. I was not surprised by who did the crime, but I was surprised by some other factors surrounding this particular character.

The romance aspect was perfect and they mystery parts kept be hooked thoroughly. There were characters in this book that I had found myself hating in previous books that I actually kind of started to like them somewhat in this book! I think the authors definitely need to do a spin off of the other Royal boys because I don’t want it to be over!

Review: Broken Prince

Title: Broken Prince

Author: Erin Watt

Date of Publication: July 25, 2016

Broken

Goodreads Summary:

From wharf fights and school brawls to crumbling lives inside glittery mansions, one guy tries to save himself.

Reed Royal has it all—looks, status, money. The girls at his elite prep school line up to date him, the guys want to be him, but Reed never gave a damn about anyone but his family until Ella Harper walked into his life.

What started off as burning resentment and the need to make his father’s new ward suffer turned into something else entirely—keep Ella close. Keep Ella safe. But when one foolish mistake drives her out of Reed’s arms and brings chaos to the Royal household, Reed’s entire world begins to fall apart around him.

Ella doesn’t want him anymore. She says they’ll only destroy each other.

She might be right.

Secrets. Betrayal. Enemies. It’s like nothing Reed has ever dealt with before, and if he’s going to win back his princess, he’ll need to prove himself Royally worthy.

My Review:

Holy smokes this book was everything I could have asked for and more.  After that ending from Paper Princess I didn’t know what to do with myself for days upon days.  I couldn’t even find a good book to take my mind off of it.

Broken Prince picks up right where Paper Princess left off, and I feel like anything I say is a spoiler, so I am actually going to keep this review short and recommend you read this series.  Instead of the book being told from Ella’s perspective it is told in dual point of view between Ella and Reed which I was really thrilled about because this time I could be inside of the Royal Prince’s head.

This book had plenty of twists and turns and even more than book one had.  Ella was still a great main character, and she wouldn’t dwell but instead stand up for herself and others to the bullies of the school.  The scenes between her and Jordan are always entertaining.

The Royal boys were still a big mess and that is what draws me to them the most.  This series is the most addicting series I have ever read.  The book does end on a cliffhanger as it did in book one, and I feel like there were multiple cliffhangers that caught me off guard.  My mind is still on overload, and I am already yearning for book three.
