Goodreads Summary:

Three years ago, Tyrus Domitrian shocked the galaxy by killing the woman he swore to love forever. The woman for whom he upended the Empire. The woman with whom he wanted to build a new and brighter future.

Now, the once-idealistic heir apparent has become the cruel Emperor Tyrus, wielding his authority with an iron fist, capable of destroying planets with a single word, controlling all technology with a simple thought. He has bent the Grandiloquy to their knees, and none has the power to stand against him.

But there is a muttering among the Excess. They say that Nemesis is not truly gone. They whisper of her shadow spotted in distant star systems. They say that Nemesis lives. That she will rise, and rally the people to topple the man who was once her truest love—and is now her fiercest enemy.

My Review:

I’ve been waiting for this beautiful beast for almost three years and I’m so glad I got an ARC of it because I was slowly going mad. Sort of like Tyrus!

If you’ve read the last book, then you know there is the hugest of cliffhangers ever, and if you haven’t, well, just know that there is! Nemesis was just as awesome as she was in the last two books, and I love how fiercely she loves. The way she loved Donia as a friend, the way she loves Anguish like a brother, the way she loves Tyrus as her beloved! I want her as a best friend!

And Tyrus! My beautiful boy! Every time I envision you, I think of Eddie Redmayne and I’m going to say that’s how you look! You are oh so villainous and oh so mine! You were perfect in this one!

There were twists and there were so much wonderfully written words. The only thing I wish we’d had was alternating POV chapters with Tyrus, but I’ll let that slide. I don’t want to give away too much but the ending was perfect!

Review: The Empress

Title: The Empress

Author: S.J. Kincaid

Date of Publication: October 31st, 2017

Goodreads Summary:

It’s a new day in the Empire. Tyrus has ascended to the throne with Nemesis by his side and now they can find a new way forward—one where they don’t have to hide or scheme or kill. One where creatures like Nemesis will be given worth and recognition, where science and information can be shared with everyone and not just the elite.

But having power isn’t the same thing as keeping it, and change isn’t always welcome. The ruling class, the Grandiloquy, has held control over planets and systems for centuries—and they are plotting to stop this teenage Emperor and Nemesis, who is considered nothing more than a creature and certainly not worthy of being Empress.

Nemesis will protect Tyrus at any cost. He is the love of her life, and they are partners in this new beginning. But she cannot protect him by being the killing machine she once was. She will have to prove the humanity that she’s found inside herself to the whole Empire—or she and Tyrus may lose more than just the throne. But if proving her humanity means that she and Tyrus must do inhuman things, is the fight worth the cost of winning it?

My Review:

I was so happy with the first book, The Diabolic. Especially, when I believed it was a stand alone because it ended perfectly! Then I find out there was going to be two more, so I was like okayyyyyy. Please don’t screw this up!

This book has a ton of intergalactic politic stuff going on. I was lost half the time, uninterested. There was also some weird drug stuff that goes on. So, this book was a roller coaster ride of what I felt about it. But, I love, love, loved Tyrus and Nemesis. They are perfection!

Let me just say some crap goes down, and it tore my soul into a thousand pieces, and it’s still breaking into smaller pieces. I loved this book… I hated this book… I loved this book! I still feel emotionally sick from some of the stuff that happened, and I kept getting relieved, then unrelieved, then relieved, then unrelieved again! The third book is either going to ruin me or be my savior based on how this one ended. Because of how I felt with this book, I give it a 5, because I am still thinking about it!!!!!

Review: The Diabolic by: S.J. Kincaid

Title: The Diabolic

Author: S.J. Kincaid

Date of Publication: November 1st, 2016

The Diabolic

Goodreads Summary:

Red Queen meets The Hunger Games in this epic novel about what happens when the galaxy’s most deadly weapon masquerades as a senator’s daughter and a hostage of the galactic court.

A Diabolic is ruthless. A Diabolic is powerful. A Diabolic has a single task: Kill in order to protect the person you’ve been created for.

Nemesis is a Diabolic, a humanoid teenager created to protect a galactic senator’s daughter, Sidonia. The two have grown up side by side, but are in no way sisters. Nemesis is expected to give her life for Sidonia, and she would do so gladly. She would also take as many lives as necessary to keep Sidonia safe.

When the power-mad Emperor learns Sidonia’s father is participating in a rebellion, he summons Sidonia to the Galactic court. She is to serve as a hostage. Now, there is only one way for Nemesis to protect Sidonia. She must become her. Nemesis travels to the court disguised as Sidonia—a killing machine masquerading in a world of corrupt politicians and two-faced senators’ children. It’s a nest of vipers with threats on every side, but Nemesis must keep her true abilities a secret or risk everything.

As the Empire begins to fracture and rebellion looms closer, Nemesis learns there is something more to her than just deadly force. She finds a humanity truer than what she encounters from most humans. Amidst all the danger, action, and intrigue, her humanity just might be the thing that saves her life—and the empire.

My Review:

First off I am going to say this book is nothing like Red Queen or The Hunger Games. I don’t even know why the comparison is on there, but I will tell you that this book is amazing.

Nemesis is a Diabolic and was raised to kill and attack anything that stands in her away until she is attached to protect one person which is The Senator’s daughter. Nemesis not only is there to protect Sidonia, but she loves her like a sister and would do anything to make sure she is safe even if it is ruthless.

Sidonia is eventually summoned to The Emperor because of things her father has done that did not please The Emperor. Nemesis goes in Sidonia’s place knowing that this is the best way to protect her. There Nemesis encounters backstabbing and pure menacing things. The Emperor has a nephew who is considered a pure madman may be no madman after all, and one of the only people that can give this dyabolic humanity.

Nemesis was freaking amazing. She was ruthless and an unstoppable machine that could kill without a single thought, and I still loved her!  I loved how protective she was of Sidonia even though it was kind of forced on her, but even without that their bond would have still been strong.

There was some political stuff going on when Nemesis goes to the empire that I had to pay a little more attention too, but when she meets Neveni things pick up, and I loved her. No spoilers but things get a little crazy, and Tyrus comes into the picture and Nemesis learns a lot more about him than she would have ever realized.

I loved Tyrus and how he was not judgemental about Nemesis being diabolic, and I loved how spending more and more time with him she was able to pull a little more humanity out of herself little by little. The romance did not over take the plot one single bit for you romance haters.

This book had everything including betrayal, action, friendship, love, and I thoroughly enjoyed being in this crazy world.
